LIFE AS A
RESERVE
Royal Air Force Reserves serve alongside Regulars in the UK and overseas. They get the best of both worlds by balancing their own careers and home life, with the challenge and adventure of the RAF.
LIFE ON DUTY
IN THE UK

Reserve life

Use your spare time to develop transferable skills, increase your self-confidence, take on adventurous training, and meet people from a wide range of backgrounds.

Age

Roles are available for 18 - 54 year olds (you must attest before your 55th birthday).

Where will I be based?

You will be based at a Squadron local to you, where you will undertake all of your training for the role you have applied for. You will have a two-week block of training each year, primarily for exercises or extra training. You may also be operationally deployed on your station, depending on the role you do, or you could be deployed overseas or elsewhere in the UK in support of Regular personnel.

“I’ve met some really great people in the reserves - individuals from different backgrounds, united in serving their country.”
